Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team full-time, onsite in Orlando, FL (based onsite at theme-park client location). This role involves mechanical engineering support on large-scale, high-impact projects, including full-system mechanical design, stress analysis, risk assessments, system integration, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in mechanical design, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to lead technical efforts across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fully integrated mechanical assembly systems that comply with local, national, and industry-specific engineering codes.

  • Conduct mechanical analysis, including stress, fatigue, acceleration forces, load calculations, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).

  • Select appropriate components and materials based on performance requirements and reliability considerations.

  • Perform hazard analyses, risk mitigation planning, and ensure compliance with safety standards (especially related to Class 1 parts and redundant systems).

  • Generate and maintain detailed documentation including theory of operation, system design descriptions, test plans, and maintenance procedures.

  • Create mechanical system drawings, assembly schematics, and installation documentation using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.

  • Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

  • Understand and apply ride system design principles involving passenger acceleration limits, reach envelopes, ingress/egress planning, emergency evacuation scenarios, and worst-case control failure protocols.

  • Support system integration projects in the entertainment, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.

  • Lead project teams as technical lead, providing guidance to engineers, technicians, and contractors.

  • Manage smaller projects ($50K-$250K) from planning through execution, including:

    • Developing implementation plans and project schedules

    • Assigning tasks and monitoring team performance

    • Managing procurement, subcontractors, and change orders

    • Communicating project scope, progress, and requirements with internal teams and clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, particularly in:

    • Mechanical systems and component design

    • Stress/acceleration/load analysis

    • Familiarity with ASTM amusement ride safety standards

    • Hands-on use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks

  • Strong knowledge of contract documents, field data collection, system design, and problem-solving in multidisciplinary environments.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based tools.

  • Ability to travel up to 35%, as required by projects.

Project Engineer Hydraulic Modeler

In this role, you will lead sanitary sewer and water distribution system modeling projects, mentor junior engineers, and deliver high-quality solutions for clients across the Mid-Atlantic. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hydraulic modeling projects, including scope development, hours estimates, and project schedules.

  • Build, update, calibrate, and analyze hydraulic models for water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.

  • Identify system performance deficiencies, predict future issues, and recommend solutions for planning and design projects.

  • Prepare calculations, models, technical reports, and design deliverables for utility infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • 8 + years of relevant engineering experience.

  • Proficiency with hydraulic modeling, transient analyses, and data management tools (e.g., InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, KY Pipe, EPA-SWMM).

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic design, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, engineering economics, and technical report writing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Experience working with local, county, and state clients.

Senior MES Engineer

Our client is seeking a direct hire (permanent), remote Senior MES Engineer to join our growing Life Sciences practice. The candidate must live in North Carolina. This is a leadership role where you will serve as a solution architect, project leader, and mentor, guiding a team of engineers while directly engaging with clients to deliver cutting-edge Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with a passion for building partnerships, solving complex challenges, and driving business growth in the Life Sciences sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MES solution design, configuration, implementation, testing, commissioning, and qualification, ensuring seamless integration with Level 2 (controls) and Level 4 (ERP) systems.

  • Serve as solution architect, conceptualizing and delivering innovative MES strategies that improve compliance, reduce downtime, and drive efficiency.

  • Act as technical lead and mentor, guiding engineers/technicians while ensuring project delivery excellence.

  • Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and reports; manage projects up to $1M in scope.

  • Oversee daily project operations, ensuring profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Support external system interfaces (DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, PI, Maximo) and manage database integration (SQL, Oracle).

  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements, evaluate MES platforms, and develop tailored solutions.

  • Drive business development efforts by attending industry events, engaging with professional associations, and securing repeat and new business opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Sciences.

  • 8+ years of MES experience with at least 4 years in the Life Sciences industry.

  • Proven MES deployment experience with platforms such as Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, or POMS.

  • Hands-on expertise with all project phases: conceptual design, basis of design, implementation, testing, start-up, and commissioning.

  • Strong understanding of cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, S88, and S95 standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement integrated EBR recipes.

  • Proficiency with relational databases (SQL, Oracle), historian technology, and reporting systems.

  • Strong IT/OT networking knowledge.

  • Excellent technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical teams.

  • Professional references (subordinate, peer, manager).

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with system integrators (highly preferred).
